Mens Bags Fall Winter 2010 - 2011

As men's bags become more common and gain more focus on the fashion scene, you may notice that some styles look very close to what you'll see offered in women's handbags. The shoulder bag is one such style that walks a fine line between bag and purse. Louis Vuitton's Fall 2010 should bag has a shorter strap, which adds to the blurring of that fine line. If you're uneasy here, stick to styles that have longer straps and clean lines like the cross body style by Dior Homme. This shoulder bag by Giorgio Armani is great for casual looks and the long strap takes it into "bag" territory and out of the "purse" realm.

If you need a bag to take to the office, you might want to consider a tote bag. This style is a great alternative to the very traditional briefcase. In most cases it's still provides enough structure to keep papers and folders from being jostled and crumpled, yet it's more stylish and relaxed than a boxy briefcase.  The duffel bag's not just for the gym anymore! This large, cylindrical style is traditionally created in canvas, nylon and other casual durable materials used for rugged occasions. In 2010, however, duffel bags are being crafted from the finest leather and by top luxury labels. This style of bag is perfect for a weekend trip or anytime you need to carry more than just your wallet and cell phone. From left to right: Thom Browne, Hermes, Louis Vuitton.
Another type of bag that's getting a luxe makeover is the backpack. This style has quickly gone from casual gear for school children to trendy apparel for fashion forward men. Even when crafted in humble fabrics like nylon, designers are paying special attention to these and making them a part of a well-rounded wardrobe. This is a great choice for a man that's reluctant to carry a tote or shoulder bag for fear it may look too much like a purse. The backpack let's the modern man carry around all of his trappings and still be very masculine. From left to right: Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta.
Fall 2010 bags for men take advantage of the versatility of wool and felt fabrics. Bags made from these reflect the cozy themes of the season and allow for a great variety of color and pattern in bags. Trimmed in leather, as in the runway examples from Trussardi 1911 (left), Michael Bastian (right), they still look like luxury items.

Like women, men too need a bag to safely carry their belongings especially while traveling. I liked all the bags though some are girly but nice.
